The Civil Council on Defense and Security (CCDS) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization which aims to contribute to democratic reforms in Georgia’s security and defense sector and support the country’s democratic transition and Euro-Atlantic integration.
With this aim in mind, CCDS
- provides a public debate platform for civil society, government agencies and international stakeholders
- facilitates civil society’s engagement in democratic oversight of Georgia’s defense/security sector
- supports capacity-building of the government and professional communities in the area of nuclear security and WMD non-proliferation
- raises the public’s awareness on security-related issues.
CCDS was launched in 2005 and officially registered in 2011.
