This website has been developed with support from the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and within the framework of DCAF’s current programmes in Georgia. The Civil Council on Defence and Security (CCDS) has worked on the Georgian edition of the website.
The website aims to raise awareness of the reader on security and defence sector governance in democratic states and on the role of effective democratic control in these states’ democratic and stable development. Furthermore, the website addresses specific issues, such as integrity building in the defence and security sector, best practice in fight with corruption, and transparency and accountability of defence and security institutions.
The website describes the practice of democratic oversight of defence and security institutions in Georgia, facilitates strengthening of democratic governance of Georgia’s defence and security sector and promotes Georgia’s integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures in the future.
The website is intended for all stakeholders who are involved in democratic oversight, including parliament members and representatives of state security institutions, civil society and the media.
